Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo!

This year's big trip will Sat. May 4, at 6:30 pm - Sun. May 5, 2013, at 7 pm at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida, America's #1 Zoo, according to Parents Magazine.

General Schedule:

SNOOZE AT THE ZOO!  The Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, FL.  Features more than 2000 animals, interactive exhibits, rides, shows, on-site dining and shopping.

Nocturnal Adventures
Experience life as an animal of the night! Find out who comes out when the sun goes down as you stalk and slither your way through the Zoo to see nocturnal animals in action.

Your exciting evening will include:

  • Up-close encounters with animals
  • Behind-the-scenes tour
  • Theme-specific activities/crafts
  • Pizza snack & light breakfast
  • Stay the day after your sleepover at the Zoo! Enjoy a guided in-Zoo tour from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and then you will spend the rest of the day in the Zoo exploring and having fun.

The program begins at 6:45 p.m. sharp on Saturday, ends 11:00 p.m. that night, and we are camping over Saturday night.   We have early breakfast and a morning tour on Sunday, then we can enjoy the Zoo on our own the rest of Sunday for no additional charge.

The price is $45 per person, child or adult, but that can be offset by the credits your scout earned by selling popcorn.

Younger Siblings:
There is no lower age limit, but there are some caveats:

First, they charge for every person of whatever age.

Second, and probably more important, we will be away from from the sleeping area until around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night.  Nobody will be allowed to go back.  So if you have a toddler with you, it might be hard for them to stay awake and in an agreeable mood.  So please keep that in mind.

Signing up and paying:

Please fill out the form below once for your family, and follow the link which appears after you submit the form to pay.  (In some browsers, you may have to scroll the screen up after submitting to see the link that appears)

Then, when you get to the payment page, you should select the name of your older scout (or alphabetically first scout for twins) to pay.  This is because all the popcorn credits from this and previous years are put together under the older scout's name, to allow multi-scout families to pay in just one transaction.

Special thanks to Popcorn Colonel Dennis Wait and Assistant Michael Blanchard for collecting all that popcorn selling data.
