Camp Chowenwaw: November 9-11th, 2018

Get ready for outdoor fun at Camp Chowenwaw. Located in Green Cove Springs, this scouting camp was built in 1932.  With miles of hiking trails through forests of huge trees that have been protected for almost a hundred years, lakes and a river, and cabins built during the Great Depression, Camp Chowenwaw is an iconic camping site.

Pack 416 has reserved both tent camping sites as well as unique “treehouse” sites. They can be reserved on a first come basis at the Signup Genius site here:

Tent site reservations will be for one half of a 14 ft  by 18 ft tent pad and will cost $18 per tent for the weekend.  Treehouses (screened enclosures with no power) have 4 bunks and cost $18 per person for the weekend. Be sure to consider that if a parent and scout sign up for treehouse bunks they will likely be sharing the treehouse with another parent and child as the reservations are per bunk, not per treehouse. You will be invoiced for payment after registration.

Both tent and treehouse sites will have shared restrooms with hot showers, fire rings, and picnic tables. Both sites are about a quarter mile from the parking area, so be prepared with your gear.

Meal Plan:

The pack will provide Saturday breakfast, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast.  The cost is $8 per adult and $5 per child. This cost is charged to all campers who attend and will be invoiced after registration.

Friday dinner and Saturday lunch are on your own.

A medical form must be completed.
