Aidan's acheivements

Dear Aidan and Shea,

Below is my recommended strategy for having Aidan complete all Webelos Badge and Arrow of Light requirements by February 25th.

Homework to complete for September 25th den meeting:

Go through the Bobcat Requirements 1-8 (promise, law, webelos means, sign, handshake, motto, salute, read about preventing child abuse)

Print, fill out and bring to the Sept. 25th den meeting questions 1 through 4 of the Webelos Badge worksheet
Here are some helpful links: the meaning of the Webelos badge; the three special parts of the Webelos Scout uniform; when to wear the uniform and when not to wear it.

Print, fill out and bring to the Sept. 25th den meeting questions 2 through 6 of the Family Member Worksheet NOTE: number 4 requires Aidan to keep track of his expenses for seven days, and number 5 requires 4 family meetings, so you need to get cracking on these two.  The others take only a few minutes.  This will complete your Family Member Activity Badge.

During the Sept. 25th meeting, we will do question 1 from the Fitness Worksheet: the Fitness Character Connection.

Homework to complete for October 2nd Den Meeting:

Complete six of the questions from 2 through 8 of this Fitness Worksheet.  I recommend that you skip # 4, because it takes a week to complete and requires a lot of follow through. The pamphlet referred to in number 8 can be found here.  This will complete your Fitness Activity Badge.

During the October 2nd Den Meeting we will do question 1 from the Citizen Worksheet: The Citizenship Character Connection

Lead the den in the opening flag ceremony before the den meeting.

Homework to complete for October 16th Den Meeting:

Print, fill out and bring to the den meeting, questions 2-8 and, I recommend, 9 and 17 of the Citizen Worksheet.  This will complete your Citizen Activity Badge.

Fill out and bring to the den meeting, questions 7 and 8(e) of the Webelos Badge worksheet.  For question 8(e), I recommend that you answer

  1. Discuss with your family and Webelos den leader how your religious beliefs fit in with the Scout Oath and Scout Law and what character-building traits your religious beliefs have in common with the Oath and Law; and
  2. List at least two ways you believe you have lived according to your religious beliefs.
At the October 16th Meeting, we will do the character connection for Faith.

The Bobcat and Webelos Badge will be awarded at the October Bonfire Pack Meeting if all these can be completed.
